I went in for the first interview. When I walked into "suite 115", there was loud music playing, bright colors on the walls, and about 6 other people waiting to be interviewed.
I filled out an application with, among other personal information, my SSN. (Which I now completely regret.) I answered the questions they asked, such as, "Name 5 types of advertising" and "What is the most effective type of advertising?" (After reading their website, I saw "Face-to-face advertising my the 'most effective' according to Prestige.) I finished before the other applicants, so I was admitted to my interview first.
My interview was with Justin, who was VERY laid back, but talked a LOT. When I managed to get a word in, I explained that I had experience in marketing, advertising, and administrative work. He said, "Cool, cool, " to everything I said. It seemed to me that he was trying to remember his scripted introduction, rather than listen to what I had to offer the company. He made it very clear that my goal would be to run my own version of the company, and asked me what I would do if I ran the place. He was very vague about what the position entailed, but assured that ifI was called back for a second interview, I would learn all about thecompany. I said maybe 5 sentences, and before I knew it, the interview was over! I spent 5 minutes in there, tops. As I was ushered out of his office, Justin yelled, "Go say hi to Alex (the secretary/HR guy) on your way out. He gets lonely up there!" So unprofessional.
After the interview, I felt confused and disappointed. A few hours later, I got a call for that second interview. I read all the reviews of the company on the complaint, and decided not to go.
I recalled that one of my friends had a horrible interview experience, so I gave her a call to tell her about my strange interview. She informed me that it was the EXACT same company. She went to the second day of "shadowing", and was thrown into a mini-van and taken to a rich area of Winter Park. She was told to go door to door and sell AT&T services. Not knowing that she would be a door-to-door salesperson, she asked to be taken back to her car. The "leader" REFUSED, and told her that he couldn't leave his shift. Another shadower refused to do the work as well, and once the "leader" saw the mutiny brewing, he called his supervisor. After an hour, the supervisor finally allowed the "lead" to take my friend and the others back to their cars. As she was getting out of the van, the lead said, "Hey, my supervisor thinks your cute and wanted your number." HOW UNPROFESSIONAL.
Needless to say, do NOT waste your time with this interview! They make the job sound great, and recruit HUNDREDS of college-grads for interviews. When I got a job at a legitimate company, I was asked if I went to any other interviews. I explained Prestiege Solutions, and the RECRUITER said she also went to one of their interviews. I also had 2 co-workers who attended their interviews! (One who went through all the training and was NEVER paid!!!)
I've noticed a pattern with these companies. First, do your homework and check out their website. Prestiege's website is completely devoted to HIRING new people, and says NOTHING about the products and services they provide. How do you gain any clients or customers without marketing ANY part of your website toward them?
The websites will also show how "fun" and "cool" it is to work for them. They want to keep the party going after you graduate from college. Notice the stupid music playing?
Lastly, you will NOT be able to find any information about the company, aside from the complaint or other companies' websites (which 'QWEST Marketing' has used to make 'The Internet Company, Inc' and 'Media Logic, Inc' seem legitimate. *I wrote a review of 'The Internet Company, Inc' as well, please read before attending their interview! *)
Do NOT get sucked into the "work hard, play hard" scheme these companies try to convey. They are complete rip-offs! Do NOT waste your time!!
