The person or persons involved in this scam have been arrested. Police are asking that anyone with information please contact Det. James Calaski at 201-652-3800.
Police are seeking other possible co-conspiritors, as well as additional victims.
In one of these scenarios, ads placed on Craiglist sought employees to start at $500 for bailing out state and county prisoners, helping them make a new start. Potential employees were told that there was an error in a deposit made to their personal account, and that more money was deposited than should have been in the original agreement. There were no jobs, there were no payments and the whole set up was a scam.
