My experiences started with me breaking down in june of 08and having my car towed from george and sons and to their facility and having to have a timing belt and water pump put on. I was quoted 300.00 for the job. It was a done deal between the mechanic and i. My car was in the shop for about a week before ever getting notified. I notified the shop and asked what the deal was with my car taking so long.
My husband and went to see for ourselves, what the problem was. While there we were told we needed new bolts because they were broke and that we needed a new motor because there was a crack on the side of motor and the bolts were broken off. We were fuming because they were accusing us for having someone else work on the car before them. We needed to order new bolts so both my husband and i told them that no one has ever worked on this car except for routine maintance and we personally knew the woman we originally bought the car from.
We told them to order the bolts and to put the timing belt and water pump in, that we werent going to put a new motor in for a mess up that they did. Our bill went from 300.00 to 500.00. After receiving call from mechanic informing me my car was ready, my husband and i went to the shop and round 2 started. I was handed a receipt for $632.75 so as i was reading the bill i asked the mechanic where is my water pump listed, and his response was as rude as could be and in my face said i didnt put it on because i spent 11 hours on your car as it was. I was fuming and said first wasnt paying for your mistakes and i have been quoted two times and i wasn' paying for the third. I payed the 500.00 and figured it would be the last to deal with them.
When i first brought my car in i had 80,000 8 months later my car broke down again with only 3500 miles more on it. My insurance company called out george and sons towing and the tow trunk driver looked under my hood of my car and told me it was my timing belt. We informed them that his facility just put on a new one 8 months ago. We had it towed back to our home because of the rudeness and unprofessional job they did the first time. The tow trunk driver told us to call the shop in the morning, so we did, the owner (she) told us to bring in it that it was covered.
We had it towed again to their shop and we werent gone but a half an hour when the husband called us on my cell phone and tells us he wasnt fixing it because it wasnt under warranty. We arrived at the shop and they were on their way to have my car towed back to my home. So as you can see i have infomed the better business bureau and put in a complaint. Now my car still sits in my carport because i don't feel i should have to pay out any more money for my car when i know deep down that i have been totally ripped off.
So i am letting everyone i know not to do business with them because people that i have already talked to told me that they have already heard about different things that they havedone to people. They need to shut down so anyone out please put a complaint in with the better business bureau before they hurt someone else.
