I bought my son an HobbyZone Mini super Cub Remote Control Airplane from HOBBYTOWN USA IN SCHAUMBERG, IL on Monday 03/23/09. We open the plane on Wensday 03/26/09, watched the video and preformed a pretest flight process before flying the plane. The planes rutters were not responding to the controls and we installed our own batteries, the batteries were missing from the box. The box was not sealed when we opened the box, almost like someone had the plane before us. I really did not think this was an issue, until we found out the plane was defective. First thing i did was I called the Manufacturer about the problem, They could not resolve the problem and told me to take the plane to a local Hobby Store in Grayslake, IL for them to look at the plane. When I took the plane to them, they found that the fualous needed to be replaced, they called the manufacturer who decided to send the new part out by Monday 03/30/09, it being only Thursday, my son was upset. My son wanted to fly the plane that weekend, so we decided to buy an new Airplane from the Hooby store in Grayslake and return the defect plane to HOBBYTOWN USA. We attempted to return the plane on Friday 03/27/09, We were told by the owner Glen that he would not take the plane back and asked me to "GET OUT OF HIS STORE" when I got upset about his refusal to take the plane back. I called the HOBBYTOWN USA HEADQUARTERS and spoke to an Bob about the issue. I was told by Bob that he just got off the phone with Glen and they would not going to return the plane. I was told by bob, "we have never had an problem with glen and you must be the problem". Now I have two airplanes instead of one.
