Odd interview

I had reviewed a report on this website before I went into the interview so I was prepared. I was contacted repeatedly for two days to schedule an interview. When I finally contacted the HR rep she asked me to bring in a copy of my resume and lots of questions. The place looked awkward. Only 2 desks in a large fairly empty room. She stated that they had just moved their office from another location and that they were in the midst of transition.

So I prepared a list of questions ranging from expectations of company on employee to "what was a typical day". There were about 5 other people that were coming in for an interview also. I filled out the over copied application and waited to be seen. When it was my turn. I informed the man sitting on the other side of desk that I had looked for a website or any company information and was unable to come up with anything, leaving out that I had read about it on the complaint. He told me that the parent company was LXG International. (I have since reviewed the website and it is much like the office I had my interview in).
After that he stated that he had a couple of questions for me. They included on a scale of 1-10 how would I rate my people skills. Next, do I like to work in a team or individual environment. And lastly on a scale of 1-10 what was my competitive level. I thought these to be strange questions. What insight was this interviewing getting from me giving him a number?

I asked what was a typical day was like for an employee. He stated that I would be doing this. (Sitting at a desk interviewing?!?) I then went further, was there any telemarketing, no. I then asked how do you generate your sales? He replied, You'll go out to surrounding area companies to offer products. So, business to business sales. He replied yes. I couldn't believe that I had to ask so many questions to get to the general responsibility of the position. It was like pulling teeth! I asked two more questions, the answers were vague, and that was it. He told me that I would hear from them in two days.

Overall, it was not a normal interview. I think it had to do with how secretive the job responsibilities were. Like only insiders were allowed to know. If you get a call for an interview, I would pass it up. Something isn't quite right...
