I recently moved from the Dallas, TX area to San Antonio, TX and received a bill from the NTTA. I called to pay this bill of $55.11 and they told me that I did not pay it in time so now I owed over $900 because they added administration fees to the bill. This is an increase of over 1600% of the original bill! This billing practice is outrageous and should be illegal. I asked if their were other options and she told me that I could pay it or wait until it goes to a criminal offense and try to explain the situation in court. How about those options? Either pay a ridiculous amount of money that I can't afford or risk going to jail? I think someone should look deeply into how this agency is allowed to operate this way.
