On Dec. 23 the maintenance man at my apartment entered my apartment with his key at 3am and proceeded to enter my bedroom with the intent of raping me, he climbed into my bed and awoke me and fondled me and spoke of having sex. I immediatly told him to leave, just then the phone rang it was my boyfriend he asked what was wrong, I couldn't tell him for fear of being injured.
I grabbed ahold of the maintenance man and shoved him out my door. I called the police and made a report and then called my mom. The police found my key in his pocket and he told them that he had indeed entered my apartment with intent, this was written on the police report. When we went to court we did not have the prosecuting attorney they had to call someone else in because the proscutor was friends with his mom as well as the judge.
What we didn't know was that she was in charge of the court system at the time as a county commissioner. He pleaded no contest. I as well as my friends and my mom heard the sentence of 6months on tether and report
as a sex offender. He did only a couple of weeks on the tether and never registered as a sex offender. The two police officers had different assignments elsewhere so they could not be called as witnesses. He still was allowed to live across the street and still be the maintenance in my building except for my apartment.
My apartment was broken into and the apartment manager would not get a deadbolt, we had to call the sheriff's office to get them to call to get the lock changed and the light in the hall fixed.
The original police report has been changed and so have his sentencings. I haven't been able to get an attorney around here because of conflick of interest of his mom. During the court proceedings his mom kept saying I will get even with you. I rented a different apartment from her and it was not up to code and she would not fix it. Also I did not know that the maintenance man on that apartment was also her son until I moved into the next apartment. While at the other apartment I had several break-ins that were not forced entry but found my
clothes and other things in array. The new apartment manager did not tell me he was maintenance man until she gave me the key. I feel I did not get justice in this case. I have lost a brother and sister and have had alot of hardships to face and this did not help.
