I have been a vonage customer for 10 months. I was told I could port my phone number and then was assigned a different number. After several months of not using the service due to the back and forth of trying to port my number I was told that my phone number was not available for vonage.
I was then given 2 months free, and when I was charged I called to cancel my service and question my charges. I was told I wasn't charged and that they were going to fix things for me. When I contacted my bank they confirmed the charges came from vonage. I then tried to cancel and question vonage about these charges and was told that I now had a second account in my name that they weren't aware of.
At this point I have spent several hours, months of payment and lots of frustration trying to cancel my vonage service. After spending an hour on the phone with a manager tonight I was told that I could cancel. I was then disconnected and when I called back they said the manager office was closed as of 1 minute ago. I then looked at my e-mail inbox and found that while they did cancel my service I was charged $200.00 for it. I was even charged for the second account that I had never created.
I am now seeking help and legal advice on this issue. I am going to contact a lawyer and the better business bureau about this matter. I feel that as a customer we should have more rights then this, and I think it is unfair that our hard earned dollars are going to a company that it ripping us off by giving us the run around!!!
