In August I made a payment with my credit card to Directv for my ex-boyfriend who was having money problems. His problems continued and his account went into default.in Feb I was charged $907.82 for over charges and equipment that was not returned. I called DTV and was told to fax info in proving the the charge came from my account and that I do not live at the service address. I did that and called several time to be sure my fax was received. I was told it would take 7-10 business for the refund to be processed.
On the 11th I had not heard a thing and began to call daily to the president's office and each time I was asked to fax another piect of info, my ID card, a different address, a copy of my credit card, and was finally told that I would have a refund in 6 business days. Bythen my rent was late and ther were charges accruing. On the sixth day I received a phone call and was told my refund would not be given because my credit card info had once been associated with the service address. Of course it was, I'd already told them it was my ex-boyfriend, but I had long moved out; my name was never on this account and I had only made a payment for him once out of kindness. They told me if I returned the equipment I could receive some of the oney back and they would send me packageing materials and postage slips to do this. I still haven't received them. I sent every email address and physical address this letter and have still not received a response.
I have discussed this issue with my bank and an attorney. We are all in agreement that DTV must need my $907.82 very badly to take it from a person who isn't even a customer. I do not have the time to fight this being a single mother of 4 children who has been laid off from work and actively perusing full-time employment. I have already wasted more time and energy than I can spare. Keep the money, it's yours. I'm glad my ex-boyfriend's account has been paid in full, but do know that I will never do business with DTV and I will inform any and everyone I can how I was cheated out of my rent and grocery money in this time of economic instability. I do want to return the equipment to you, but have not received the packaging materials as promised by your president's office. So again please send it to:
