I received a yahoo messenger buzz on 2/23 from a close friend, stating the following:

Since the message was from a good friend I went to the website the same evening (2/23/09) and ordered the free trial with the option to cancel after a 15 day trial. Yeah, stupid me but I just assumed she didn't respond because she was not at home.
ON 2/24 I RECEIVED THE FIRST OF TWO EMAILS from the company. The first stated, Dear X, thank you for shopping with us at Acai Berry Bloom. We have successfully processed your order. (Order reference number: X). We hope you enjoy the items that you have purchased. We deeply appreciate your business and hope to hear from you soon.

On 2/25, i received a second e-mail stating the following:
Thank you for your purchase of AcaiBerry Trial Bottle US/CA. We have successfully processed your order. We hope you enjoy the items that you have purchased. We deeply appreciate your business and hope to hear from you soon. Your order ID is: x. Total Charges: 5.95. Statement on your credit card would appear as ONLINE PHARMACY. If you have any questions regarding your order, please do not hesitate to reply me with questions, such that we may be able to resolve any issues as swiftly as possible. Your item (s) will be shipped and you should expect them within 8 - 10 business days. Thank you and best regards!
Within the next day, I received another Buzz on yahoo messenger from a different friend stating they too had lost weight but she provided a different link.

By this time, I had not received anything from the company, and along with the instant messages, I became very suspicious as this was DAY 13th (March 8). I contacted my friends and they had not initiated the IM so I visited the e-mails to get contact information for the company. The company did not provide a telephone number or address of any kind so I immediately started to research their practices. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OPRAH's WEBSITE STATES SHE DOES NOT ENDORSE THIS PRODUCT (so leave my girl out of this), nor do I think the other sites do.
With what I found I called my credit card company to cancel my card, and requested a new one. I then e-mailed the company to cancel my order as I could not find a contact telephone number. I also stated that I had checked Oprah's website and it states that she does not endorse this product. According to the terms of purchase, I must cancel my order within 15 days from the order date without incurring an additional charge. I stated that I wanted to cancel my order effective 03.08.09, which was well within the 15 day trial!!!
On 3/13/09 (5 days after I cancelled my order) THE COMPANY RESPONDED WITH THE FOLLOWING:
Thank you for placing your order. Recently, your order X for product billing was declined by your credit card. Your credit card details: X. Please note that if you do wish to keep the trial product already shipped and received by you, the charge of 79.95 is required. Please provide another credit card to allow for the billing. If you do not wish to keep the trial product, please let us know via return email, and we can provide the return instructions. We look forward to hearing from hearing from you.

Again, there was not a contact number.
I responded with the following:
First of all, I have not received any order from you. Secondly, the offer states a free trial for 15 days. I ordered on 2/23/09 and your confirmation to me dated 2/25/09 states that my TRIAL has been shipped and that I should expect to receive it in 8 - 10 days. That equals 10 - 12 days from the order date. Which leaves no room for a free trial as advertised. Again, I have yet to receive anything and this is day 20. I think your practices are shady as you advertise a free 15 day trial, before billing, I haven't received an order, and there is no contact information in your e-mails. I sent an e-mail to on 3/8/09 stating that I wish to cancel my order which is well within the 15 day period. Yet you still try to charge my credit card? It's a good thing I took action and cancelled my card or I would be at your mercy for a refund. Again, I have not received an order, I am out $5.95 and I will chalk that up to experience. It was NOT nice doing business.
