MoneyWorks called my aunt today under the name Life Solutions. My aunt had recently had a stroke and is confused sometimes. Keith Carter from Life Solutions called and wanted my aunt to enroll. He said they were a company that reduces your interest rates with your credit cards. He gave her a price of almost $2000.00. She told him what we her family trained her to say when solicitors call. She told him that she had to talk to her family, specifically me who helps her with her finances. He got her to give her verbal okay by reassuring her that her family had until the end of the day to call and cancel.
This verbal okay apparently was recorded but not his reassurance of the ability to cancel of course. When I called they answered the phone with the company name MoneyWorks. I told the woman on the phone that Keith had told my aunt the name was Life Solutions and gave her an address in Atlanta, GA - 182 Waterplace Suite 2505 zip: 03039. I also told her I could not find this company online. She told me that Life Solutions was the name of their enrollment center and that Moneyworks's address is P.O. Box 672856 Marrietta, GA 30339. I told her that Keith told my aunt we could cancel as long as we called today. She told me she couldn't cancel and that they had a recording of my aunt giving a verbal confirmation. When I tried to explain to her that Keith lied to my aunt about their cancellation policy she hung up on me.
I tried to call back 3 times and they hung up on my everytime! I called the Marrietta police specifically the fraud department. We are in the process of cancelling the payment thru her credit card. She gave Keith all her credit card numbers. The Marrietta Fraud Department has recommended that we cancel all credit cards and put a fraud alert on her credit report. I What scumbags preying on the confused elderly!
