Mr. Tom Grant of M.R.S. Started calling my elderly aunt after that company picked a credit card debt that my aunt had to let it be chared off due to health problems.
My aunt had had this card for over 16 years and paid it faithfully until she stared having heart problems and had to quit her job and ended up on full disability. My aunt had paid most of the bill off her balance at the beginning was over $6,000 and she paid over $4,000 if the bill before she just could not afford to pay any more.
She wrote the card company and explained everything to them and thought that was the end of it. Then in December of '03 Tom Grant started calling her... She explained to him what had happened and that she just could not afford to pay this due to the fact that she is on disablity. He told her that he had already checked her bank records and he knew that she could pay it and that if she didn't pay it that he would keep calling her every hour on the hour.
She was so upset when she finished that call that she had to take medication and wasn't able to get out of bed for the rest of the day. My aunt is a heart patient and can't have this kind of stress. His calls continued for weeks. My aunt called me and asked me if there was anything that she could do to make them stop calling her. I called Mr. Chris Bradley who is Mr. Grant's supervisor.
Mr. Grant was very rude to me called me a liar and told me that if I was so concered for my aunt that I should pay her bill off. He told me that he didn't believe that my aunt could not pay because she has another card that she uses and she pays it every month. I explained to him that card is her bank card and she uses it to pay for her medication each month.
He just kept at me and kept calling me a liar and told me that I can't call his office anymore because I'm wrong about Mr. Grant that he would never harass anyone. He even told me that I was raised wrong and that I had a bad character for attempting to keep them from doing there job. He told me that he took my aunt's number out of his computer so we will see if she gets anymore calls... These people are out of control and need to be stopped.
