I was contacted by Excel Loss Mitigation by telephone and they explained to me all the ways in which they could help me with my house. Originally I tried to do a loan modification and when that was denied I decided to try for a short sale. I paid them 1200.00 and they did absolutely nothing for me. I worked with 4 different representatives because they either were quitting or getting fired. They kept telling me offers were coming in and we were almost done. They even sent an appraiser to appraise the home. Now they will not return my phone calls. I try to call every day but it goes directly to voicemail even when I call the corporate office.
I started this process in August and thought this was my answer to avoid foreclosure but was I ever wrong my house is now being foreclosed on. My mortgage company said that there was never any documentation for a loan modification and that they were only contacted by Excel Loss Mitigation a couple of times and were never presented with any offers for a short sale.
