Hello everyone my name is vanessa, im a 22yrs old single mother who is looking for a reliable car just like most people out there. I recently went to horne hyundai to purchase a car it was a 2007 hyundai sonata with 12,500 miles. Before i arrived at this car dealer ship i called and asked for a pre-approval just so i knew if i were to go down there i wasn't going to waste my time. So as i call i speak with a sales person named Larry Hoel was pleased to help he took all my information said he would call back in about 20 min. Well 20min went by i recieved a phone call on Friday Feb 20th, of 2009. Larry said great news how soon can you get down here? I said give me 10 mins. I was confident, but didn't want to jump to conclusions i got down there looked at some suvs a little pricey. I said well i need something with great miles and a great price something bascially i can afford right! So as he shows me this hyundai sonata wasn't too sure just cuz it was 2yrs old and they wanted what kelly blue book was selling it for which was not right. Well 13,995 is what they wanted but in the kelly blue book it said excellent condition this car had chips of paint missing on the door handles, the right hub cap passengers side had a terrible scratch or should i say chunk missing, it had some stains on the seats a few scratches on the door panel well as you can see it was not in excellent condition. So i decided i was going to pass do some shopping for a few days. I left they kept calling wondering if i had found a vehicle which i hadn't wasn't getting lucky getting approved other places. So i decided hey it was decent car i might as well just go back to horne hyundai talked to someone named Rusty told him i would be there shortly shopped around that place to see if i missed anything. Well i ended up going back to that sonata it was a blue silver pretty color thought to myself hmm im approved here might as well right just talk them down a bit right i said give me the car for 12,000 and i will take it. Larry Hoel yet assisted me once again and said its a great car and you know how salesmen work right well i said alright i will take it they dropped it to 12,000 and i gave them 2,000 dollars cash down got all the paper work done. Wow i was out of there with the 2007 hyundai sonata vin#5NPET46C37H255275 on Feb 25th of 2009 drove home was excited and relieved i was finished shopping. My payment wasn't going to start until April 11th of 2009 soo happy had got full coverage insurance on it the next moring was insured when i left just nervous because it was liability so the next day i get the full coverage on it relieved it was affordable for me. Well a week goes by March 2nd of 2009 i called horne hyundai to ask about tint for my windows we had added it to the contract. So the sales manager named Steve was in a meeting. Left a message so they could call me back well i recieve a phone call from Larry Hoel stating they needed more information from me which was weird if they didn't recieve all my information why would they let me take the car to top it off for a week. Well they decided i wasn't approved after a week i have had the car they replied by saying we've been trying to reach which was very awkward i have caller id on my home phone and even on my cell phone have no record of them trying to reach me besides the day of feb 26th steve the sales manager called and had recieved a little more information from me. So when i spoke to Larry Hoel he told me either you get a co-signer or bring the car back! I was devastated and upset they wasted my time. I said well i get my money back right still upset, was so so confused because of the thought they approved me and to think they even let me take the car home for a WEEK Mind you. So as of Feb 2 i went dropped off the car asked them to give me my money they said well the check writers are not here we cant do that well i said you were quick to take my money and deposit it in the business account weren't you they said it wasn 't their fault they made me feel like Ive never felt before i have been to used car lots and gotten cheated over maybe because im a women, but i thought to myself a huge dealership did this to me i don't want anyone else to have to be in a situation like this even a used dealer ship didn't make me feel that bad. It is embarrassing, stressful, and way too complicated to just get a reliable car any where i know how bad the economy is, but there is no explanation how i sat there signed a contract and all of a sudden everthing is gone. To top it off they wouldn't give me the check, they were pretty fast to take the car i was refusing to leave it there until i recieved my money the Steve the sales manager said i will write you up a request stating we owe you your money i said ok i will take it still worried just because we signed a contract together wondering if him signing that paper won't be a lie as well. Steve had said the check writers will be here at 11am on March 3rd. The next moring i arrived at horne hyundai again wasting my time. Larry Hoel comes out and says the check writers won't be here today i was dissapointed. He also said Steve assumed they would be here. Well to my knowledge for sales manager who assumes that i was approved for car through them and assumes that the check writers will be there at a certain time should not even be in sales mananging at all! Steve must know his business if he is in managing NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING JUST BE AWARE OF THIS EVER HAPPENING TO ANY OF YOU DON'T LET THEM WIN! I did recieve my check the following after calling all day all morning. I believe if i hadn't kept bothering them the way i did would of been cheated once again sorry don't know what else to say thanks for your time and reading this horrible situation.
Thank you sincerely, vanessa a. Hernandez
