Hopefully this will help someone. I am livid! I was looking for a car thought this may be a cheap route to try, after seeing a commercial on TV I thought let me just call and see what they have to offer.
Why oh why do I never follow my instincts.
I called bargain network to get information about cars that were starting off at $500 seized from police and were being held at auction sites. So far sounds good right - got the information over the phone persons name, id #, info about the monies due... 1st 30 days for $1.95 after that $9.95 every week but, they would go ahead and take out the whole month due at the begining of every month which is $39.80. Told me the date in which I'd have to call before to cancel so all I would be charged was the $1.95.
So I called in due time to cancel and was never given a confirmation number. I reiterated everything loud and clear so the so called recorded conversation could be understood should they need to go back and verify.
When I went to do some banking online today I came across a charge for $39.80??? New immediately what it was and got on the horn. First call I was on hold for 20 minutes. Then called back, finally got Katrina on the line a CSR, telling me there was no record of my phone call to cancel and in order to get a refund I would need to speak to a supervisor. Fine. Then Ruth, the supervisor, got on, immediately gave me her I.D. #, and a confirmation # for the refunded amount of $19.90... 1/2 of what I was robbed.
I said that's not good enough. I called in due to time to cancel, not be charged this fee and to avoid all of this freakin nonsense. As she kept apologizing, stating there's no record of my phone call and this was all she was authorized to refund, it will take 5 days I felt my blood boiling.
I kept repeating aren't these phone conversations recorded for just this reason? She said yes but, still we would have it on record... WELL NO YOU DIDN'T have it on record. I kept telling her 1/2 of a refund was not good enough. I want the whole thing and just because someone who's under you and made the mistake of not entering it in the system or not giving me a confirm #, why should I be the one who has to suffer.
In these terrible economic times 20bucks is a whole lot different than 40bucks. Then I preceeded to let her know that all of this was a bunch of BS, what a scam, the info that I received wasn't even helpful, and thanks for nothing!
So I got online hoping to go to there website to write something and in the search came across this website instead and registerd immediately.
Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. This is definately a super scam!!
