This is a company apparently owned by and run by a young man who advertises himself on Facebook (his name is True Apodaca at least that's what he says) and also uses MySpace to advertise it and solicits in Career Builder.
The Company was formed with a filing with the State of Florida only this past September. They give you the impression that this is a national organization with people coming from other locations to operate here. There are no other locations. The pitch in the ads is misleading and so is the information on the web. You are pitched that you will have an opportunity to become management and what's involved is very vague. It appears that Apodaca is targeting young people hence MySpace and Facebook. What you find out when you go on an "interview" is this company supposedly does promotional events for vendors but no one you've ever heard of.
When you read the information on the websites it's full of flowery ambiguous language. They "hire" no one. What they do is interview you and then have you come back the following day to participate in one of their events as part of the "interview". One of these recent events was at a gas station where they get you to try to sell $25 or $15 cans of car of carwax to people who use the station and maybe you can pitch a new windshield to a potential customer. Somehow you get a commission on the sales (there were two over 8 hours) after they pay the vendor, the site where the event took place and then the Company. The hours are 8 to 7 five days a week. They don't pay a salary or an hourly wage so they don't have to comply with the Federal and State hourly wage laws. They represent that this is a nationwide company when it's owned and run only by this Apodaca guy.
If you're interested in working for free, not making money, and likely not getting paid as the commission schedule is so arcane only Apodaca understands it then go for it. If you're interested in making a living and getting paid then this is not for you. Beware of the con because that what it smells like.
