BS Leisure Plus - BS Savings Plus
Ripped off twice from the same company using different names

I was checking my credit card statement last night when I noticed two charges for $14.95 each from two different companies located in Texas that were not familiar to me. I called the first one which was Leisure Plus to find out I was a member. I asked the rep how I could be a member if I never authorized membership. He claimed I bought some type of household product and clicked on a $10 coupon that autmoatically put me into their membership. I told him I never purchase cleaner products on line and if I did, the charge would show up on my credit card which there wasnt any such charge listed on my statement.

I cancelled the membership with Leisure Plus and proceeded to call the second unfamiliar charge which was SB Savings. To my surprise, I got the same rep that I had just gotten off the phone with to cancel the membership with Leisure Plus. Of course he denied he was the same person I just spoke to. I cancelled this second membership and demanded he credit my charge card. I also told him I was going to report him to my credit card company as a fraud. He didn't seem to care. Both companies were based out of Texas but had different telephone numbers.

I called my credit card company and notified them of these fraudulent chages. I had to destroy my current credit card and wait until a new one was issued and sent (between 5-7 days). The rep informed me that my complaint would be sent over to their investigative team and I was not responsible for the two charges.

I googled both telephone numbers today at work and found out that both numbers are associated with each other, both numbers belonging to the same company. Imagine that. Not only did they rip me off once, but had the audacity to double-charge me from the same company.

I would like a lawyer to begin investigating this with the possibility of a class action suit against these people. This has to be illegal, not to mention unethical, to sign a person up for membership without their authorization and begin taking out automatic withdrawals from their credit card or checking account. These people seem to think that we are all idiots and don't look over our statements in hopes they can continue to charge unconditionally. I wonder how many hundreds of people have been subjected to this fradulent and illegal act.
