Champlain College
Absolutely ridiculous

The guy who tickets for Champlain College actively seeks out cars he can easily remember and spot. As many of you know the college likes to charge 150 dollars for a pass to park near campus otherwise you have to park in the gilbane lot which is nowhere near the school. The only way to get there is on a bus that never runs. If you don't have a parking sticker and you aren't a student of the college you will never get a ticket on the streets. Also, if you have a boring car you probably won't get a ticket. I got a ticket today for parking on the street (I am not registered with the school) and there were four other cars on the street I could identify that are STUDENT vehicles that live in my dorm. Of course, only my car was ticketed. Why? I wish I knew. The entire parking division at champlain is full of scum bags. I parked my car in a driveway to run inside a building for less than a minute and I came out and they were trying to ticket my car which was still running and had the lights on. The guy was trying to tell me that he was going to write a 50 dollar ticket because you can't idle your car. I went inside to get my skis to put them on top of my car. How else am I supposed to do this without getting out of the car? His solution: Have a friend go to your room and get your skis and have them wait outside. Yeah, that is a great solution from Champlain parking - what college student is going to wake up in the morning to hold my skis outside in the street in the freezing cold weather while I walk to the gilbane parking lot... If you are going to a college and need a car, don't come to Champlain because they will write you a ticket every chance they get. There is plenty of parking on the streets Champlain just likes to get every nickel and dime they can from their students that already can't afford the sky high tuition
