Twin City Events is another company on job finder sites that make me skeptical to finding a job using sites like Careerbuilder or Monster. Twin City Events (TCE) for short posted a few job openings on Careerbuilder with the caption: event planners, event marketers and entry-level positions with no experience needed! I already did an interview with their business counterpart Bay Area Promotions (BAP). I interviewed with BAP in early 2008 and was very irritated to find out this company wasted 1 day of my life, which I can never get back.
At TCE the same interviewing process was used. Poorly painted lobby with cheap decorations, fake awards on the wall, crappy top 40 BLASTING out of the radio and located in a former warehouse with cheaply made walls. I have almost 2 years experience working with the top event planners, catering companies and restaurants in New York City. I worked at a very professional company and assumed TCE was too. I got real excited to work for an event planning company in Minnesota.
I had called all my references and let them know of my potential job interview. Boy was I embarassed to have listed them for this job. After meeting with the interviewer, I put 2 and 2 together and realized it was the same process as BAP. I walked out disgusted and irritated that i wasted 2 more hours of my life that I can get back. BAP and TCE are 2 companies that should be ashamed of themselves, using young aged adults and desperate people to sell and move their cheap garbage and the false promises of big money that come with them.
Anyone in their right mind would quit after 2 days and report this company like me. I hope one day these people are shut down, arrested and banned from ever operating a company again. The interviewing process should be used by the Army to torture captured terrorist. I know that I would rather go to jail than work for this company. If any of you scumbag employees of BAP and TCE are reading this, send me $ for the wasted time I suffered at your expense and quit immediately.
