We Were Conned By Icon - And After Losing $170,000 They Continue Conning Others, But Under a New Name: Pinnacle

Icon Security is in the business of security systems, but that's not all they're good at messing up.

Throw in a dash of Matt Sterzer, a sprinkle of Jake Taylor, and an insane amount of rotten employees running the show, and you have yourself an amazing mix of backstabbing, uneducated, and cocky individuals.

Once upon a time, Icon Security was based on morals, values, and that crazy word called integrity. Now, which dictionary or thesaurus they chose to follow has yet to be determined. They claim to be honest people with love for those around them and most importantly the gospel. - I'm pretty sure the big man upstairs would condone a few of their actions and even cast them into Outer Darkness. But who am I to make those accusations.

Moving on.

My fiance and I moved to Portland, Oregon for the summer. He was to sell security systems with a Co-Manager by the name of Scott Owen. Halfway through the summer, things went awry when Scott Owen (of Provo, Utah) physically and verbally assaulted me, quit paying my fiance the money he was rightfully owed, and kicked us out of our housing. - (Not too mention the events leading up to this. When all was said and done, Scott Owen planned the whole thing in order to receive a bigger Back End check.) - (Look who is laughing now? Scott Owen now owes the company and has returned to his devilish ways and is now selling with APX Alarm.)

In order to preserve the HONEST accounts that he sold, we decided to stay with the company, but move to Seattle in order to finish out the Summer.

Things only got worse. Throwing large amounts of dishonest money at uneducated people has proven to be quite the show. - Just pull up a seat and a bag of popcorn and you have entertainment to last an eternity.

With about 3 weeks left of the selling season, Icon Security ran out of equipment to install, leaving technicians and sales representatives with nothing to sell or install. The other kicker, was that if sales representatives or technicians left early, their "Hold Fund" would be non-existent come payday.

So, we were stuck in Washington with no money and no jobs. It finally came time to come home and we were thrilled.

When time came for Back Ends to be dispersed, there was nothing. We attempted to call Jake Taylor and Matt Sterzer regarding this $170,000 issue. - And to this day, nothing has been done.

Come to find out, Icon Security sold out because of its lousy business practices and awful customer service and was "merged" with Pinnacle and bought out by Golden Gate Capital.

Icon Security was left with all the liabilities. And Golden Gate Capital was able to acquire yet another dishonest business. Have they ever stopped to think of the people they are walking all over? - We weren't the only people who didn't get paid. There were several individuals with families of their own, who went out for the summer, and came home to no big paycheck.

We were definitely CONNED by Icon, but have learned a valuable lesson. Never trust a get rich quick scheme, because it's just that, a scheme. On the end of the spectrum, do not let these dishonest individuals that work for companies like Icon Security, Pinnacle Alarm, and APX into your home. Whether they are selling vacuum cleaners, or an alarm system they are all in it for the money, and in some way, some how, they have conned somebody out of something.

It makes people rather bitter when you keep over $170,000 from them. Karma is sure going to get those responsible if it hasn't already. The owners of Icon Security refuse to pay my fiance a dime. They don't return phone calls, emails, letters, or text messages.

They walked away with our $170,000 please don't let them walk away with yours.
