We had a cold spell with temps below 0. We called around looking for heat tape. Allot of the local places had sold out. Called Reeces, they had it. We then asked what the price would be. They siad anywhere from 15-30$. That seemed fine with use. So we went to purchase it. Got there and they siad that 6 foot of King frost heat tape with a -40 rating would be 39.99. Needed the tape didnt think anything of it at the time. Got home spoke to my mom and she said that didnt sound right. We have never purchased heat tape before...
She looked up prices online and siad we had gotten ripped off. We needed the tape and kept it.
I called Reeces a week later. I asked them for the exact price for the same brand heat tape and same size. He then told me it was 32$. I then proceeded to ask him why he had given me a different price a week earlier. He stated that it changed in the computer. I then told him that I thought he had priced gouged. He siad that he didnt and if I thought that I got ripped off that I could, if I came right then, that he would give me 10 $, he siad hell Ill give you 20$ back. I told him that I couldnt come at that moment. We proceeded to get into it and I told him that I would just turn him in for price gouging.
This is money that I couldve fed my 1.5 year old child or put gas in my vehicle. I will never agian do business with this company. What they did was wrong. Im not the only one in town who has had a complaint.
