Consolidated Resorts, Tahiti Village, Interval International
Fraudulent representation

Two years ago my wife and I bought a timeshare from Consolidated Resorts in Las Vegas NV in their Tahiti Village Phase 2. It was Moorea unit, every other year, floating. We figured that having a timeshare in Vegas was a good thing, as we like traveling there. This seemed like a good deal, and we went with it.

As part of our purchase they gave my wife (then my fiance) and I a real hard pitch. The 30 minute presentation turned into damn near all day, and they made a ton of promises. We were going to say no, but eventually they wore us down with all of their promises. Turns out they were mostly lies. They said that we could call up any time and get our unit, that it would be finished in the fall of 2006 (it finally opened in 2008 after two more lies as to when it would open), that we could get the big unit for a nominal fee, and that we had all of these free trips (6 in total if I recall correctly) that all we needed to do was get the airfare to them. Additionally, they promised that we could get drastically reduced airfare on any of these flights. They said we could get it refinanced easily (not true). The clincher was that they said they would buy it back from us for fair market value if we ever chose to sell.

We tried on several occasions to stay at Tahiti Village before the phase 2 was completed. We were never successful. First time was oh, you need to call 45 days in advance. Next time we called 45 days in advance and it was well, sorry, but we are full up, you can stay at one of our other facilities. We continued to make all of our payments, including maintenance fees on something that did not even exist. When I asked why we were paying to maintain a non-existent property, they got angry and rude over the phone. When I called them about buying the property back as they had promised, their comment was Find that in your contract. We would never buy back something we already sold..

In April we put the unit up for sale. I paid $450 to one of the timeshare sales online companies, and to this point we have received no offers.

I will gladly send you copies of our contract and answer any questions you may have regarding this upon request. Thank you.

Anything that can be done to stop these unscrupulous, deceitful, fraudulent people from getting any more of people's hard earned money, we will support.

Sincerely
