I purchased a 32" LCD Emerson television set from Wal-Mart on March 17.in August of the tv shut itself off and would not turn back on so I called Wal-Mart. The electronics department informed me that there was only a 90 day warranty on the tv (convenient) and she gave me the telephone number for Funai which apparently manufactures these sets. Mind you, I paid almost $700 for this tv and it was only 5 months old when it went out! Funai informed me that they could either pick it up and I could wait 4-8 weeks while they fixed it or I could drive it to a repair center (60 miles away) myself. I asked Funai for a confirmation number to give to the repair shop and they told me just to take them my original receipt for the tv. So, I took it there and found out that Funai would only pay for parts not labor! It cost me $150. XX to have it repaired. Then I had to drive back and pick it up. It was fine until January 13. It started shutting itself off and two days later it won't turn on at all. I contaced Funai once more and again they are sending me to a repair shop or I can wait 4-8 weeks for them. This is the worst complaint solution process/policy I have ever seen. There are many consumer complaints about this Emerson LCD 32" model turning itself off and then not coming back on. I want Funai to ship me a new tv and let me send this one back.
