I signed up with Mason Capital Group to represent me to negotiate with my mortgage company to reduce the payments, lower the interest rate, and get me on a fixed rate mortgage (vs. An ARM). Gretchen Fox is the legal team as part of the Mason Financial Group to do the negotations. I made a down payment of $1,000 agreed to pay an additional $500 when the company sucessfully negotiated my loan reduction.
I had been in contact with Gretchen Fox via email and telephone up until Monday, 12/29, and now when I call their number (866-749-4916) I get a message that the number has been disconnected and not in use. I had a cofirming email on 12/11/1008 that they had negotiated a new loan for me, but before we could close on it, the original mortage company I had used (Citi Residential Lending) had sold my mortgage to a new company (Chase Residential Lending).
I became very suspicious when I call the number today and got the disconnected message I got. I had previously looked up Mason Capital Group on the internet and at the time (September) there were no compaints lodge against them, and I assume they were a viable company to do the work. They'd sent me a statement that they had negotiated a new loan for me, with a down payment of $2,038.00 and would lower my interest rate to 6.52%. Right now my mortgage rate is 9.5% on an adjustable rate. To date, I have not paid any additional fund over the $1,000 I initally paid.
