On Dec. 19 I got a call around 11am confirming who I was and saying that I had a "won" a FREE trip to Orlando Florida for 3 days and 2 nights. Then proceeded to say that I also won another trip to Daytona Florida for 3 days and nights as well. She then asks me if this sounds good I quickly respond and then she says I won another trip to Cancun Mexico for 5 days and 4 nights.
Anna who I spoke to was a very fast paced talker and didn't let me think about anything that was being said to me and proceeded to ask if I would like to go and take my family.
Then says that I have to pay a registration fee for each adult of $249. And then asks for my visa number. She said she had my visa there on file and all I needed to do to confirm this vacation was to give her the number and it was all mine. I told her I didn't have a visa that I had a mastercard. And also asked her how she had a visa number there when I don't even have one. She ignored what I said and kept on asking for the credit card number. I asked her why I have to give her a credit card # if the trip was free? She just said if was a registration fee and began to tell me over again what all the 3 vacations were and what was involved. She says "don't you want to go away".
My mastercard didn't work so I had another card here but, it wasn't mine and I told them that I had to ask my husband first. They wanted to get him on the phone but he wasn't available. I also said that I need to confirm that I am able to use this card as it is a family members and they need to know before I actaully use it.
I ended up giving Anna (badge #5824) the card # and after I hung up I immediately called my husband and he was livid with me and said it was a a scam.
I immediately called them back to cancel the vacation and it was within a matter of 5 min. That I did this and of course they wouldn't let me do it. After being on the phone for 2 hours they ended up NOT helping me or refunding me and said the account was in the hands of the billing dept. That they would call me back within 72 hours.
I waited 2 days and called them back and finally I got someone from the billing dept. Or so they say. Her name is Samantha at ext 280 and she told me it is non refundable. I asked her how I can win a vacation and then have to pay $500 plus airfare and all our meals. Not worth it at all.
I am so upset at myselft for not just hanging up the phone. I thought I actually won something and everything happened so fast that I was too overwhelmed with all the info that I wasn't even thinking properly.
The whole thing is ONE BIG NIGHTMARE.
