Extended warranty on appliances

On the 22 Nov. 2008 I went to Sears and purchased a front load washer and dryer. There were problems with the previous Manager leaving the store and maybe the help also, because the people working were filling in from the home office, The lady that sold us the appliances said she was from the home office. We couldn't pick our appliances up that day because there were only the 2 women there and the washer was very heavy so we said we would come back the next day. The next morning we were therewhen the store opened and talked to the gentleman there. I had decided to purchase the extended warranty at this time and I ask if the 3yr. Warranty was extended to make it a total 4 yr. Warranty. This person said yes. Now I asked this 3 or 4 times and he continued to say yes. I also checked to make sure the rack that was missing from inside the dryer had been ordered. Again, I got yes. When I got home I noticed my contract would expire in Nov. 2011. When I was in the store to pay my c.C. Payment this gentleman was in there with a couple other clerks. I ask him about my warranty not going to 2012 that it was showing expiring in 2011 and he said not to worry that it went to 2012. The repairman would know that. Well this weekend when I went in to buy a flatscreen t.V. I ask about the rack that was ordered and my warranty. Needless to say when they said it had not been ordered and my warranty is on top of a warranty so I now have 2 warrantiesfor the 1st year which I do not feel necessary. I will never purchase an extended warranty again until the 1st warranty is about to run out. I was so angry being lied to by someone from your home office. I feel that we were good customers as I purchased most all my appliances from Sears. This year alone we purchased a gas power washer the front loads and a 33 ga. Air compressor. We always purchase tools clothing etc. At other sears stores. I will proably continue purchasing clothing from the other sears stores but if this is how I'm going to be treated on purchasing larger items that warranties are needed on then I'm not sure that I can continue to buy from Sears. I am still going to buy a flatscreen t.V. But Sears has a lot of competition in this area and yesterday I met someone in a different store when I was looking at the t.V. S that said I didn't want a certain t.V. That I was looking at. They told me they would be getting in more and that I needed to wait. I spoke with a cousin this morning in Fla. Whom has purchased a fridge from sears and they are to deliver tomorrow. I told him about what happened to me and to be careful on the warranties. I will continue to tell eveyone I know who will be purchasing appliances what happened to me. Thank you for listening to my complaint.

The person that I spoke to on Sat. Dec. 28th 2008 did get the rack for my dryer ordered and it is to arrive Jan. 5th 2009 to my address. I do appreciate the time he took to get that taken care of.
