I kept getting slammed with overdraft charges $35 each even for items of $1. I tried to keep track of the money I had. Every time I would ask someone at the bank of how I could keep track of my balance I would get a different answer. I tried to check My online account and found out I had $300 thought nothing of it payed a few bills. Got some gas. Next thing I know $280 of overdraft charges. Outrages and now broke I went to try and reconcile the situation at my local BOA branch. After speaking to a Customer Service rep I was informed that I was labeled as an Irresponsible customer and they could do nothing about refunding SOME! Not all but SOME! Of the charges. I got no heat for a month because I had to Pay $280 for roughly 70$ of overdraft they covered for me. Thanks But I think I would have rather have some heat in the frigged north east.
Granted I should be on top of my Financial stuff. I just think its outrages to charge someone that Much and repeatedly accepting payments when their is no money in the account. Yeah they say its the way the system works. That system could be updated to prevent multiple charges if your account is out of funding, and it would be a piece of cake to do that. YET! They don't! WHY? Because they bank on opportunity. And I just happen to be the opportunity that they bank on. Multiply that by a few more hundreds and that's HUGE REVENUE! They lost a customer FOR LIFE! Because of their greed and their incompetent customer service. And gained a lifetime champion of negative word of mouth advertisement. Now take the little people you sqeesed and multiply that by a few hundred, and now you have a major issue in the future. Word of mouth can be a very powerful tool. I just hope their way of business and thinking changes. Its a shame they call themselves the Bank Of America.
