Got our hopes up! Shame on them

My husband received the same letter as the others I have read about. It said he was the winner of the USA Mega Millions also known as "The Big Game". Entry 09-13 attached to your name and drew the lucky numbers, and mega ball as a result matched 5 numbers for a $250,000 USD prize. Congratulations! (The last sentence is how they wrote it and it I didn't think they used very proper english!)

They asked us to call the accounts manager to activate the check we received for $4910.00 and start the claim process. We were to call Maria Valentine at 1-647-830-4573.

I called the number and first talked to a Evelyn who told me we had truly won the $250,000! I asked many questions and was sceptical but my husband does send in many drawings and lottery tickets etc. He had even won a package of prizes from the Minnesota state lottery with a chance to win money so you can see how my hopes got up! She told me to deposit the check in our financial institution and then call back and they would start the next proceding of sending the remainder of the money via Federal Express and my husband would need the letter and a photo ID to show the delivery person. I was told the taxes needed to be taken care of by us. When I called her back and told her I deposited the check, she told me the next step which was we had to take care of the "legal administration fee". Whoa! I asked what that was and she didn't quite know how to explain it but said she would have her supervisor (Maria Valentine) explain it. I was to go to either a Walmart or an Albertsons where they have the service to send a International Money gram. Our cost would be $2050.00 and she said she knew that was alot of money but that is why they send the first check like they do so you don't have any out of pocket expenses! The name and address I was to send it to is: Accounts Dept. Stacy Mallory, 125 6th Ave. Hope BC (Brittish Columbia), Cananda, LOV1M8. She said to tell the customer service rep at Walmart that the money is going to a family or friend because then they don't charge such a big service fee, what a bunch of crap! I talked to my bank and had them reverse the deposit and took the check which had Chase bank on it and called them, guess what, no such account number! I hope that many people read this before they even get as far as I did because it is a huge let down. Shame on them people, I don't know how they can sleep at night.
