Funeral Emporium charged $1205 for my Dad's cremation service in Jan. 08.
All went well with his service.
Roe was so kind & caring with me that i just could not believe that i would be taken advantage of by this company.
March 18th, 08 I noticed another charge for $1205. On my credit card statement. I called Roe, who had helped me with my Dad, & explained the problem. She was so nice & promised to get it fixed right away.
Roe even mailed me the customer copy of the VISA refund slip to my credit card.
I truly believed all was well & the ""mistake"" would be rectified.
I waited patiently, then I called Funeral Emporium, speaking with AJ.
He said that there were some difficulties, but please give them a little more time. I felt this was reasonable.
I waited & called again & was treated much worse now by AJ.
I called my credit union & was told that it was now too late for them to help me. I realized then & there, that this was the ploy of Funeral Emporium.
I filed a report with the Federal Trade commision & Florida's dept. Of funeral directors. I could never get Better Business Bureau website to work, so no complaint filed there.
Some agency must have called the Funeral Emporium because I received a call from AJ, 9-18-08; he said the "powers that be" have decided to pay me back. He said the check will be mailed Fri. 9-26-08.
I have not received any check or communication from them.
To this day, I am still in shock that they could take advantage of someone who has lost a loved one.
