Insight Marketing Concepts
Offered me an interview in

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry regarding the anger that is shown in these e-mails.

I do not know the company or the employers that people are angry with. Nor do I know the people that are angry. Let me repeat that in another way. I am not affiliated in any way shape or form with any of the people who have written anything about this company, or the people who are involved with the operation of this company. Nor do I know anyone who has had any dealings with this particular company.

So why am I writing? Well, because Insight Marketing Concepts offered me an interview. Oh, horror of horrors! Now I feel ripped off and angry!

Sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it? But that is exactly how most of you sound.

Okay, so Insight Marketing Concepts offered me an interview. What do I do now?

Well first, I ask what the job entails. If the answer is vague, I ask more pointed questions. If I still get a vague answer, I have to consider whether or not I want to go to an interview for a company that won't come right out and tell me what I will be doing for them.

I wouldn't want to go to the interview and find out that it's AMWAY for Pete's sake! I don't like door to door sales, and even though AMWAY is a respectable company and a good product, I don't want to sell it. (AMWAY will not tell you who they are until you get to the interview and hear their spiel, but they are a good company.)

If at this point if I am still interested in checking out this opportunity, I ask where the interview is going to be held. If it's close enough to where I live to make it worth my while to go check it out and see what the job is all about, I go ahead and make an appointment.

Then, I get online and check with the Better Business Bureau to make sure I'm not walking into a dangerous situation, because I've never heard of this company before.

The BBB, by the way, has no information on this company, which can be good, or can be bad. It seems all of you people who are so worried about other people getting ripped off by this company, are not worried enough to go to the main bad business reporting agency that we have available to us. Otherwise, having been alerted to the bad practices of this company, the BBB would have done their own investigation into it and anyone wanting information on this company would only need to contact the BBB to get it. But there is nothing there. Which could mean that the company is okay. On the other hand, since this company is not a member of the BBB, you can only know for sure that they have not applied for membership in the BBB, AND there have not been any justifiable bad practices reported about them.

Okay, now I know that nothing has been reported to the BBB, and I know that the company is close enough to where I live, to make it worth my while to check them out. There is only one more thing to do before keeping my appointment. I check places like the complaint to see if they are listed there. When I check these places, I take into account what has transpired to get these people to the point where they are unhappy with this company.

In this case, I would have to say that most of you people have nothing to be angry with the company over. All the company did was offer you an interview for a job that you didn't want, or give you a job that you couldn't or didn't want to do. I'm sorry if you tried the job and didn't like it and couldn't make any money at it, but stayed anyway. That seems a little dumb to me. And I'm sorry if you went to an interview that you felt was a waste of your time, but lots of interviews are, and you surely MUST know that you are not going to take a job or even be offered a job for every interview you go to.

Personally, I know that I would not be good at door to door sales. But lots of people are. Just because this job may not be good for you or I, doesn't mean it is a scam or not a legitimate job. Door to Door sales have been going on for longer than our country has been a country. There is nothing wrong with it, it is just really hard work. But those that can do it, CAN make a very good living off of it. And yes, it is usually all commission and you have to use your own car and gas. That is usually the nature of the job.in fact, I have never heard of door to door sales being anything other than that way.

So, to sum this all up, in my particular case, what I have learned is that I live way too far away form the place that the interview is to take place, since it is in San Diego, California, and I live in Washington State, so I will turn down the offer of the interview, go on my own merry way, and let this company keep trying to find other, more qualified people to do this job than I would be.

And in this way, since I did MY HOMEWORK, I will not be wasting THEIR time.
