They sent me a check for 3.965.50 I called and asked them was this a good check and how much it was going to cost me. When I went to the bank it would not go through

I received a check from first national management services and i called them and asked them if the check was a good check and they told that it was. When i went to the bank to deposit it it would not go through so they put a hold on it for 5 days and are suppose to call and see if it was a good check. I was not going to do anything until the check cleared the bank which it has not as of today and i will not do anything for sure now.
