After seeing the advertisement for the Ionic Breeze Quadra on TV, my husband and I thought it would truely be of help to me because of my history of breathing problems.
I am a silk floral designer by trade, and the moss, silk flowers, and styro dust, would realy aggravate my lungs.
When the ad on TV claimed to remove chemicals from carpet, we felt sure it would help with the silk folwers I worked with daily, so we ordered two, one for the bedroom and one to take to work with me. This was in June.
I am on Albuterol Inhalation Aerosol for my breathing,
and was useing it about once a day, after useing the
Ionic Breeze for a few days, I began to need it more and more, about every four hours.
I happen to read what consumer reports had to say about the Ionic Breeze, Worthless, from there I went to the EPA on my computer and found that ozone, even in small amounts is bad for the lungs.
The Ionic Breeze was even listed among the air purifers that made claims to remove chemicals but did not, but it did emit ozone, a lung Irritant, bad for anyone, but very bad for people with lung problems.
Needless to say I unpluged both, and do not plan to ever use again. After a couple of weeks, my breathing improved.
I sent a letter to Sharperimage through Planet feedback with all the information I had gethered, requesting a refund.
I recived an e-mail from Rachel Diaz, Executive Correspondent for The Sharperimage, stateing that due to the fact that I had keep the air cleaners for more than sixty days, they would not refund the money, but give me instore credit.
I have looked at their web site, and their catalog, and
they don't have anything I need or want, I had to leave my job in Dec. 2002 because of my breathing problems, my money back is what I need.
I feel I was mislead by their Advertisment, and a refund is only fair, not store credit for something I don't want.
