E purchased two Ionic Breeze units last summer and immediately reported a strong odor and was told the odor would go away within a few weeks/months. Later when we called back and told them the strong odor was still present they told us we had to purchase an expensive (additional) filter to remove the odor because this time they advised us our "odor" was "normal". Needless to say the filters don't work either but by this time they are out of their 60 day return policy for full credit. We know we only have ourselves to blame but we will never purchase anything from the Sharper Image again. They DO NOT stand behind their products because their products and their service sucks!
