Thomas Cook contacted my via a TTY service and asked for me to email him the specifics about the "pups". I did so and then followed up with pictures. He returned an email saying he wanted the pup, would send a certified check payable in any American Bank. He would pay an extra $100.00 for us to remove our ad from the posted site (we only advertised in the local paper) and excess to pay for shipping.
In return he wanted some information regarding address, home phone number etc.in response we only gave him general information and asked which pup he had chosen (we have three), what was the shipping destination, and for him to clarify what he meant when he stated they were for replacement. He responded that he was wanted all three pups and needed to take care of this immediately. Requested again we send him the information he requested immediately so payment could be sent immediately.
We then asked again the location to be shipped and what he was planning to do with the pups. We found his name on this site implicating him in other scams and emailed him the site and staed we were no longer doing business with him and we would be reporting him to the local authorities. He emailed back that he was in Illinois and wanted the pup for his daughter and was insulted that we were calling him a scammer but would like to send payment immediately if we would send him the information he requested.
The local police department has had 6 such scams with one being followed through. The pup was shipped before payment was verified, so the victim was out payment and the pup.
