Seller Tiffany Merry posted a horse named Rainey on Dreamhorse.com. The horse was listed as an experienced, all-around horse suited for a beginner. She repreatedly stated that the horse did not crib and also signed a document from the equine veterinarian claiming that the horse does not have this vice. The sale was contingent upon her temperament and the absence of vices, including cribbing.
After two days in our barn the horse began cribbing and showed herself to be a long-time cribber, attempting to do so while she was wearing a cribbing collar. A call to her former boarding stable revealed that she was a longtime cribber.
Also after moving into the barn, her temperament changed dramatically and she became extremely volatile, rearing without provocation both in and out of the stall and attempting to bite my riding instructor, again without provocation. After threats of legal action I was able to return the horse, but it is again for sale under a different name - Blain. Buyers should beware of the horse and the seller, who is also selling under the business name TNE Quarter Horses.
