I received a letter stating that I was selected from thousands in my field to be featured in Biltmore Who's Who Registry due to my achievements over the years. There was no mention of money. They indicated that if I was interested in being a part of their publication I contact them. I did, and had an initial conversation stating my interest.
I received a follow-up phone call from 'Sandra', who said she had to interview me and then decide if I was worthy of the recognition. After approx. A 20 minute interview, she stated with much excitement that I would be included, and a VIP. I received a follow-up call from Gary Noble who rambled and spoke over me, congragulating me on the honor they were bestowing upon me, then asked for my credit card in order for them to induct me into their honor roll. He said it would be a 5 year membership, but then proceeded to attempt to get me to sign up for a lifetime membership for an additional $400.00. I said no, as I wanted to test the system to see if it would in fact promote my business.
I received a packet with a certificate, along with additional informaton, and a receipt for the $618.95 they charged to my credit card. They also lead me to believe they were affiliated with the Biltmore Hotel chain. I received another phone call from Mr. Noble wanting a photograph, as thhere was a publishing deadline. He also tried once again to strong arm me into the lifetime membership, but I refused. That was when I became suspect, and looked online for other complaints. I emailed this morning, and asked for a full refund. I am waiting to hear back.
