My husband recieved a letter today from WM Financial Group stating he won the lump sum of $39,000, he got a cashiers check for $3,900, says his name was attached to ticket number 976033... Drew on June 20th, lucky numbers 3,7, 11,15, 23,28, 36,49. It said they have been trying to reach him since May 29th and this is his final notice, and he needed to contact Lisa Jackson or Sam Carter at 1-905-781-0586, by August 16th.
My husband called the number and he spoke with a person, they told him to go ahead and cash the check and call tomorrow and they will tell him where to send $3,000 of the money for the taxes and the rest of the lump sum will be deposited within 48 hours to his bank account. My husband cashed the check at a UPS store, when he got home he told me about it, I told him something didnt sound right.
So I began my search online and found other people who recieved the same checks, so my husband called the Huntington National Bank, the number by the way is 1-800-480-BANK and ask them about it and they said it was a fraud, luckily my husband called the UPS store where it was cashed and they were able to retrieve that check and my husband returned the $3900 to them... Just remember it can be cashed, we found that out without knowing it was fraud, but thank goodness we did find out or my husband could have went to jail, for something he wasent even aware of was fraud. Also, if you search the number its a Canada number so beware of the phone charges also.
