I am Poor & Unemployed
When I was In the Navy I received a good Paycheck, But Now after 20 years I receive my small pension.
But to the Point. Bank of America (BOA) has A savings plan "Keep the Change" Americans can go online to www.bankkofamerica enter thier account & sign-up, Or call on the phone or sign-up "Keep the Change" at thier local BOA branch.
But when my circumstances changed I needed to count every penny. I went on-line to my individual secure account and asked BOA to STOP "Keep the Change".
The very polite message sent to me said to stop I would have to call an 800 number.
I Did just that. This cat and mouse game started over a year ago. No matter how close I count My pennies or how much I beg BOA Still takes the "Keep the Change".
Then Overdrafts started hitting me. "Keep the Change" of $2 and short by one dollar equals a $35 overdraft fee. So I started to check my balance on the ATM (of course I kept Begging Bank of America to STOP the "Keep the Change" on my accounts), The bank balance check cost me Two Dollars (even though I did not withdraw money.
BOOM "Keep the Change" Bank Balance check = Non sufficient funds = two more Non sufficient funds Before the charges I had enough after the charges I got hit two times for less then minimart soda and a second puchase of 3 packs of cigerettes cost me $70.
I have received appologies from BOA people at the 800 phone number about reaching the wrong depart ment to stop BOA "Keep the Change" But I have to keep trying and finnally a voice saya okay Sir I have Stopped "Keep the Change" on your accounts.
That Stop "Keep the Change" was over one year ago and I cringe because I know it will keep happening to me.
If I had all of the Money back from BOA "Keep the Change" overdrafts I could afford simple things...
... You Know Like Food.
So Now I need to go without (ya know little things, like food).
I will contact a New Bank as soon as I have enough to deposit.
Did I mention I Have direct deposit, So BOA gets the cash.
I like all of the employee's I've met or talked to at BOA (all except one jerk over the Phone Who said "Did you read the BOA Statement"
You cannot disenroll "Keep the Change" over the Internet. Even though you can stop payment and beg the to stop payment to 1.800.432.1000, and on line
So Here I am beat down and sounding off.
If Bank of America Knows this is happening and is playing a percentage game and the have over 100million customers and only 1 percent (the poor with direct depost) make one overdraft each month... Hmm BOA gets 35 million dollars.
What would you say it is (and please don't say I'm stupid)
The definition is I'm crazy.
Some who trusted a corporation and knowing that this is going to happen each and every time, I kept begging for BOA to stop "Keep The Change" 1.800.432.1000, and online secure banking it hoping for different results.
