Rates more that DOUBLED on last bill, 2 billing cycles after we switched to another provide

I switched electric providers from Amigo Energy to xxxxxx on 5/23/08 and according to the info on the PUC website, we should have received our first electric bill from our new Retail Electric Provider on the following billing cycle after the meter was read. Our meter was read 6/4/08, after we had switched, so we expected to receive the bill from the new provider for the next meter reading of 7/3/08. However, we received 2 bills from Amigo Energy; one for the 6/4/08 reading and another for the 7/3/08 reading. Why did we go through 2 billing cycles before being switched to the new provider, all while rates increased to 24.19 cents per kWh?"

We believe we were unnecessarily billed higher rates after our switch should have occurred to Direct Energy. We should have been switched to our new provider by the end of the first billing cycle. Therefore, we should not be billed the $0.2419 per kWh, rather the $0.13 per kWh with Direct Energy. Our bill was nearly $1000, more than double the previous month.

We contacted the PUC, the TX Attorney General and local news stations.
