Avoid this company as your electric service provider at all costs! You will wish you had read this if you don't. I wish I would have know this before I rented an apartment and chose them as there are dozens or more identical complaints on this website about Amigo Energy. My electric bill for a one bedroom apartment went up to $248 a month! I am considering taking a case to court just for a learning experience as they piss me off and comitted fraud. And have also considered making an anti Amigo website. It should be illegal to raise someones electric rate by DOUBLE each month until you are at such a high rate you have to switch. This is simply outrageous. If you live in Dallas like I do, or anywhere else, spread the word that this company rapes its customers. I submitted a complaint and request for a response to the absurd rates, and I have not heard anything back from the company, despite their automatic email response that says "Thank you for your inquiry. A Customer Service Agent will respond to your inquiry within two business days." This was on August 13th. Needless to say I have switched providers and will never use them again. Someone should visit the Houston office and pump some lead into their office.
