I recently was on the internet looking into grant writing when I came across this website. The website indicated that I could get a CD for only $2.95 (to pay for the shipping costs). Little did I know, Grant Instructor had taken $49.50 out of bank account. I was shocked and immediately called Grant Instructor. After several attempts to get somebody on the phone (about 20 phone calls), I finally spoke to a "customer rep" and she indicated that I was out of the 7-day trial period and my money was non-refundable. I told her that I never authorized for $49.50 to be taken out of my account and she indicated that when I agreed to spend the $2.95 for the CD, I agreed to the membership. I was mad! Of course the 7-day trial period had already passed, I demanded for my membership to be cancelled ASAP!
I then went to my bank to get the charge reversed but not sucessful. After a few days, I emailed the Better Business Bureau Las Vegas and told them about my compliant and that this company is misleading. After about 2 weeks, I received an email from the BBB Las Vegas and Grant Instructor indicated that they were truly sorry for the misunderstanding and a refund of $49.50 would be posted to my account. I finally got some justice, or so I thought!
After a week of waiting to see if the credit was given back to my bank account, still nothing. I called Grant Instructor and spoke to somebody and they indicated that the charge was posted to my account and that I should call my bank to find out why the bank didn't accept it. I knew then something wasn't right, so I called my bank and they told me nothing was posted as a credit from Grant Instructor. I then called Grant Instructor back and was told that the credit was denied on Grant Instructor's part. Again, back to square one.
The rep told me to email a manager named Tyler to find out what is going on. As of today, I have yet to hear anything about my credit back to my account. However, I do have all my emails indicating that my membership was cancelled and that Grant Instructor would refund my money. If I don't hear back from them in the next 48 hours, I will contact the BBB Las Vegas again...
Please don't fall for the scam or else you will see your hard earned money disappear...
