I was unable to find a website that allowed employees to sound-off on their employer and I truly hope that this website is helpful to others interested in working for Wright Chrysler Dodge Jeep or any company owned or affiliated with Mr. Paul Wright.
Since Texas is a right-to-work state, there is little more that I can do but complain about the unfair working conditions of this business. Mr. Wright does not take care of his employees in any way whatsoever!
He requires that all salespeople attend mandatory training (very expensive training, I might add) and the saleperson pays for these classes in full. Even though this greedy man makes thousands a year just by his Chrysler certification, he refuses to pay for food, complains about paying for gas, & is no longer willing to pay for a hotel. He explains that since employees receive a Chrysler Debit Card, that only pays the employees if they sale a vehicle & not by much, that, that is back payment enough. Every other dealership in the country compensates their employees for the lost salesfloor time by a daily wage, but don't expect anything except a bad attitude when you get back. They treat you as if you just took an extra long vacation instead of making Paul Wright a richer man than he already is.
Recently, Paul has promoted a man named Jeff Baker as his General Manager, a supposed reformed drug user, but his aggressive in-office behavior would prove otherwise. Jeff Baker has often hit employees in the head and gets in their face when there is a disagreement of some type. This type of behavior goes unnoticed by Paul Wright, a man that refers to himself as "Big Brother" due to the fact that he moniters every area of the dealership from a home survalience system.
These two men are extremely closed-minded & racist individuals & dislike any employee that are not of the same color & doesn't agree with their same views. Company gatherings seem an opportunity to build up Paul Wright's ego as he goes from left-to-right humilating his employees in & out of their presence-surprising behavior from a man that came from virtually nothing.
If you are a disliked employee, you can rest assured that no matter how hard you work, what you have done to improve the company or how long you've worked there, you will most certainly never get a promotion. These backwoods ideals are an important factor to possess if you ever wish to take a step up the ladder.
Paul Wright does very little to help his employees. There is no health care or retirement plan & no matter how hard these men work or how many vehicles they sell, these men struggle to take care of their families. There is no loyalty when it comes to Paul Wright & his company. Recently, a man was fired when he didn't return quick enough after heart surgery-a man that worked for the company for several years.
Customers are discriminated against and suffer due to this unfair treatment. The dealership refused to give one such customer the price they wanted & then sold the same car to another customer of a well-liked employee for an even cheaper price. Management's only explanation to this was "I didn't like the customer."
The purpose of this report is to warn all potential employees of the goings-on at Wright Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Center, Texas & Paul Wright's used car lot in Lufkin, Texas. All working conditions have there perks & downsides, but this place has no perks, no bonuses & a huge downside. My family has suffered from employment at Wright. If someone trys to seek employment elsewhere while employed at Wright, it will become common knowledge and Mr. Wright will quickly fire that employee. The only way out is to just quit-a hard thing to do for someone with a family to take care of.
I've seen these salespeople suffer & age working for this man and working under those he promotes. I've heard the racial comments made at company functions no matter who was present and I live with a salesman thats mental state of mind is in shambles!
I would absoultely love it if something could be done, but this is Texas and these people do what they want because they can.
