False statement to new employers

When I was a employee of the above mentioned trucking company I performed all of the work that was required of me, I was notified that there was a death in my family and I need to go home asap now this company is telling prospected employer that I had a poor quality of work which is hurting me to gain new employment in the trucking industry.
