I've received two letters from this company in the past month. A "Treasury
Notice" letter arrives, signed by Robert S. Symonds, Payment Director and signed by 3 executive boad approval signatures, plus a stamped seal (not raised). This lettter in effect states that my name was reviewed and vertified as a cash recipient and candidate for $997.997.97 to be dispatched to me if fill out an attached "Authorized Check Transfer Form" stating that once I send them a personal check for $19.97 I will receive the guaranteed check and claim details.
Several times in this letter there are statements to hurry up and complete the form and submit it to them so they can send me the prize check.
I may be 67 years old, but I am pretty sure that people just don't send out thousands of dollars and ask you send them a check first for whatever reason.
The board approval signatures were just that, no printed name and could not understand the signatures. The only printed name was that of the payment director listed above.
So... Knowing this was a fraud, I sent the letter back with a note which asked them to withdraw/with hold my $19.97 from the larger check I was apparently chosen to receive and that I would be happy to receive the check they were so anxious to send to me. I added that I didn't have $19.97 to spare right now, but they could be assured the money they wanted to send to me would be coming at a most needed time in my life and most appreciated.
I'm writing this report because I am certain, more than sure, that there are lots of senior citizens and perhaps even younger people (because I'm not sure whether their target is solely senior citizens or people in debt, etc) out there who would believe if they sent money to them, they would receive a huge check. So beware of receiving any offer of money... Rely on the old, old addage... If it seems too good to be true... It most assuredly is.
The one thing I would really like to know is how do they find my name and address.
