When I found the ReplicaCo.com website, I thought I had finally found a reputable replica watch company. It looked very professional and the quality of the watches pictured was undeniably the best I had found.
I was looking for a prop watch for a TV show that I am producing and the watch needed to be as close to real as possible... I thought I had found the perfect Swiss Replica.in fact, ReplicaCo.com states right on their website that these watches were Grade 1 Swiss replicas, exact in every way, with certified Siss Valjoux 31 jewel movements, and that the watches were genuine Swiss made... As in made in Switzerland.
The price was a bit higher than I had found on other websites, but I thought it would be worth it to get a genuine Swiss watch, so I placed the order with my Visa card and paid $1,400.00 for a Stainless Steel and solid 18k gold Rolex Daytona Grade 1 Swiss replica.
The website guarantees 3-5 day delivery in the US via UPS. However, when my watch did not show up in 5 days, I tried contacting ReplicaCo.com, by emailing them and by calling the number on their website. No response. I tried daily to contact someone... Anyone... But to no avail.
Finally, feeling that I had been scammed and ripped off for $1,400.00 US, I threatended legal action against them. A couple of hours later, I got an email from an individual named Chris with an excuse that their email had been down for a few days while they moved into new offices. He apologized profusely and included a USPS tracking number (remember, they promised prompt shipping via UPS), which turned out to be bogus. I tried calling and emailing them again several times, but once again, there was no response.
I can assure you that their glowing testimonials on their website are all bogus. Their customer service is non-existent. The site is a complete rip-off! I think I have gotten a total of 3 emails from them in the past two weeks (the 3-5 days they promised for shipping is an absolute lie).
Well, I fianlly got my $1,400 Grade 1 Swiss replica about an hour ago, and according to the package it came in, the watch came from someone named Johnny Wu in Shanghai, China... Not Switzerland. The watch I received was all stainless... A soft, dirty-looking, cheap stainless, I might add, and not the 904L stainless that was advertised, and the finished was burnished in places where the buffing wheel got the metal too hot and discolored it. I took the watch down to a watchmaker friend of mine to have the movement checked out. As expected, he told me the watch had a very cheap Chinese automatic movement in it and that it "might" be worth $50. The watch looks nothing like the watch illustrated on the ReplicaCo.com website, and certainly not what I ordered.
I'm so pissed off at having been ripped off for $1,400.00 that I am considering catching a flight to New York, to personally collect my money from this con artist. I promise it won't be a pleasant experience for him.
Www.ReplicaCo.com is a total SCAM, so don't waste your time or your money with these crooks. If you've been scammed by them, you absolutely do have some recourse: contact the Federal Trade Commission's and the FBI's Internet Fraud Departments, as well as your local PD and Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Department, contact Rolex and inform them of the company, and if your watch was delivered via the US Mail, as mine was (even if it originated in a foreign country) you can initiate Mail Fraud charges, which is really heavy duty ammunition against the creeps who ripped you off!
