Pet iNsurance seems like a smart investment. With so many companies out there who better to thrust then the ASPCA sponsored Company Pets Health Care Plan? Moderately Priced with several options of coverage we went for the mid-grade plan.
Our Policy is a front and a back page loosely worded and contridictory on each side. We called customer service for clarification prior to having a procedure done. The rep "advised" that the root canal was a better option and "seems" as though it would be covered by our plan. A month letter we were told our check was being printed as we spoke. A week later on a follow up call we were told the procedure is not covered by our plan.
A follow up call to another rep explained that once our "full policy" arrived it would be made clear. Full policies are not mailed out until a claim is refused. When the "full policy" arrived it is a list of codes for denial. Still our procedure is never listed as not covered yet another rep explained it is a "very clear" policy not to cover a root canal.
The company admits we were told by one rep that it "should" be covered by his understanding that rep also stated they don't do pre-approvals. Petshealth managers admit that customer service can not explain the policy any further than the policy is written. The policy is written that the back side terminates most of the front side.
It is a shame the ASPCA is being represented by a dishonest company that has no intentions of putting animal welfare first.
