Deception & misrepresentation

After going through about 8 recruiters since 2004 trying to transfer from one branch of service to the Army Reserves did I finally feel as if I found the right recruiter who would take the time to get things done properly for me. I have been lied to by so many I'm not sure where to start due to the fact that I would probably have a novel by the time I was done. So I will do my best to make it as brief as possible, yet to the point. I was informed by my recruiter that I would have no problem getting the MOS of 68D (Operating Room Specialist) and this recruiter did try her very best in trying to obtain me this MOS only to be lied to as well by individuals of upper echilon. I was given a Letter of Acceptance from a medical unit only to find out that the MOS I was requesting wasn't a WTS (will train slot) so after several round abouts was I told that I couldn't get it and that I would have to take either 68M or the MOS of 42A. I told my recruiter that would be something I would have to think about and I would get back to her. My whole objective of wanting the MOS of 68D was to be able to help our soldiers who were coming back injured from war and being an 42A surely wasn't going to do that. Then I was told I could take the MOS 42A and then put in for a transfer to a unit that had a 68D slot available when I got to Fort Bragg, NC. With that said I hesitantly decided to take 42A with the stipulation that I be placed into the 824th Quater Master Unit who had a vacancy for a 42A. I was told this would be no problem and I also stated at no time did I wish to be placed into any MP Units due to the deployment level, which again I was told that would definitely not happen. On May 9 I met with my recruiter at MEPS, Baltimore and we proceeded to get things moving. A 1st Sgt. Walker first informed me that they could offer me a 12 month enlistment, which sounded great only to turn out that it was far from the truth for I had to finish up what I had left on my enlistment with the guard. Then I was told I could get the unit that I had requested because of the vacancy that was available only to be placed into the 138th PWIC unit, which SFC Pressly stated was a Personnel Unit and that he had checked into this. Another lie for I found out a few days later that this is in fact an MP Unit at Fort Bragg, NC which deployed back in April 08. When I call the 138th I was told that they just had a young lady file an IG complaint and an Congressional due to being lied to as well. She too was a $2 Alpha. I was also told that they aren't a personnel unit and they have four 42 Alphas already and yet they don't do any admin work. I was also told that chances for advancement are very slim due to the fact that everyone fights for it. So when I tried to get this rectified all I was given were excuses after excuse and told that I would have to deal with it. The Army wonders why they have a problem retaining experienced soldiers and why they can't meet the numbers for recruiting. I am just one example as to why for I can give you names of several individuals who have been deceived as well. All I wanted to do was give back by helping our injured soldiers and now I have no choice but to request IRR Status because the Army would rather lose a recruit who gives a damn than do right by that soldier. So I end this with one question in mind?"HOW CAN THE ARMY MEET THE NEEDS OF THE ARMY IF THEY WON'T EVEN MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SOLDIER"??? We aren't expendable as one may think and that is proven today by the fact that the ARMY is undermanned.
