Drive Time
Austin Texas Liars and Cheats, Rude Unprofessional Thieves Perverts

I was forced to purchase my vehicle from Drive Time after a drunk driver totaled my Durango. I ask to see a vehicle in the $10,000 range and was shown two cars. One a standard which I had already stated I was not comfortable driving and the other the piece of crap I ended up buying.

There have been so many bad experiences with the purchase of this car. Starting with getting propositioned by my sales man to" make a trade each month". Then test driving the car in a down pour, I asked to wait till the rain let up but there was no waiting with this group. Less than 2 months in my fuel pump went out and the radiator was leaking. The fuel pump left me stranded and cost me $90.00 plus two missed days of work. When I asked the mechanic Drive Time sent me to if there were any other problems I should know about he said he was not permitted to release that information per Drive Time. I also was refused a copy of the repair work that had been done.

The radiator leak got worse so I called the warranty number again and was told the warranty did not cover the radiator not that it mattered because the cost of the fuel pump repair " exhaust the funds for any other warranty work on the car". I thought warranties were based on mileage not money. My referral list has been used as a harassment line. They seem to call everyone on it the day before my payment is due to remind me that my payment is due. I also get the call.

So my radiator still leaks and is going to cast at least $200.00 to repair and the mechanic wanted to know why I bought a car with a leaky radiator. I said I wasn't aware of the leak when I bought the car, he stated someone knew they tried to seal the plastic with some sort of rubber cement compound. I just got off the phone with the first nice and helpful person I have spoken to a Drive Time. A representative at corporate head quarters because I was told that I was $33.00 past due for fifteen days, after receiving a faxed copy of my payment history we figured out the problem and I am not past due at all. There is a "glitch in their system".

Also I found out if you have an address change or phone number change you have to call the corporate office because updated at one location only updates your information at that location not at all of them or to corporate. I did let her know that I have discouraged anyone I know from even looking at Drive Time and of this web site. She stated she was sorry for the poor service and she knew of other websites such as this for other areas they have companies. Seems like this bad business isn't just for us here in Austin. I have also filed a report with the BBB.
