This report is due to the fact that I was hired by the wal-mart in Monticello Indiana on October 22 and went the next day and took my drug test just as I was ordered to and then was notified 3 days later that the results were great and my orientation would be on October 30. So when I called that morning to speak with Erin in personal the one who does orientation and everything else.
She told me she had strep throat and she would not be doing orientation on 10-30-02 it would be on 11-1-02 instead due to her illness. I felt that that was more than fine so I checked back on 11-1-02 like I was told by Erin so when I did they told me she would not be back untill Monday 11-4-02.
So I called back then as I was to do and she was not able to take calls at that time but they would let her know I called. 45 minutes later one of the dept. Managers called me and asked why I was wanting to know when I would start and bugging this woman. I told him the story and he told me that they had no position for me. I was hired by Ben the 3rd shift manager and sent for drug test by this same man. I was told welcome aboard and that he was glad to have me on his shift. Now where I come from thats saying you have a job.
Ben told me to get the drug test done asap so I could start asap due to he was three people short on 3rd shift.
After talkin to the store managers they told me that they each had hired another person and didnt tell the others they did this. When I had my interview and was hired on 10-22-02 I was told by the 3rd shift manager Ben that he had seen my app and resume around 3wks ago and told the human rescources lady Erin that he wanted an interview with me asap. Then whe she never did this he asked her what the deal was why I had not came in like he wanted.
Erin told him that she had lost both my resume and app. This was 3wks prior to me being hired. So on 10-21-02 a friend that works at wal-mart told me that they were 3 people short on nights I called the 3rd shift manager Ben and he told me to come in for a interview the next night at 10:00 P.M. Thats when I was hired.
When all this time has past and was told I had no position and that Ben had hired me without following the rules so there for I had no position. So I contacted the distric manager Larry Witlow and he has been no help at all.
All he has done is to tell me that the reason why I had no position at wal-mat was due to the date on my app. When I answerewd that question for him by telling him that Erin had lost mine and it was dated before 10-22-02. He told me he would look into it and called 2 days later after i had left 2 messages to speak with him. He then ask me what kind of realitionship I had with this Human Rescource lady Erin? When I told him I didnt know her till i was told what her last name was.
It is Erin Owens she is my ex-wifes best friend and had all but admidtid that she lost it for the reason my ex-wife asked her to. Before I knew all this was going on I turned down 2 part-time jobs that would have made one full-time pay check. See in my city and county we have the highest unemployment rate in the whole united states and Indiana.
The reason I did was that the hours of these 2 jobs would not match with my hours I was to be working at wal-mart And I was being told that i wouldf start the next week. I still have not been able to find work. If it was just me it might be different but I have 4 kids that depend on dad to care for them. Now we are about to lose everything including our home due to this wal-mart crap.
I just wanted a job now I have nothing. Thank you Wal-Mart for screwing my family how you earn big profits. Besides wal-mart still has a open position on 3rd shift that is mine and they tell me I have no position. Gee guess wal-mart gives free drug test now a days.
