Today, 4/04/08, I'm writing to let consumers know they will get a bad deal by choosing, Eastern Motors, 7910 Pulaski Highway, Rosedale, Maryland, 21237. Please do not shop for cars here or any Eastern Motors!
I was in need of a new car because my current car's engine was going up. I started a new job and needed reliable transportation. When encountered by s salesman who seem very shady from the start. I told them what car I wanted and they tried to sell me in a car that I did not want. After searching for the car I wanted, I informed the salesman I had registration issues for insurance lapses. He informed me he had the similar issues and not to worry because the dealership would take care of them. He said they took care of him as well. I was thinking they would somehow add the fines to my loan since they claim to help will various financial issues.
So after buying the car, I get a call 3 weeks later saying they cannot obtain my tags. I called customer support and they basically told me it was my problem and they would not have anything to do with helping me. So the temporary registration expired and I was in a bind.
After I bought the car there were obvious mechanical problems. There was an air leak in the door jam, and the car did not shift gears correctly. I took it to a Mazda dealer and they informed me the car needs a transmission oil change that cost $180.00. I called Eastern Motors customer support and they said it was my problem. I asked why the car was sold without standard maintenance completed. They had the same response; it's your problem now.
So I had some tags lying around with up-to-date stickers and slapped them on the car till I could afford to pay the registration issues. So I was driving, but very minimally and very cautiously! By the way, the car was/is insured!!! As expected, I get pulled over for having the wrong tags on the car. The very kind officer that pulled me over informed me the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) was scratched off, which is illegal in Maryland. So I'm thinking, WOW, I wonder if Eastern Motors will take responsibility for this one.
I had planned to take care of my registration issues within the next week or two with my tax return and savings. I almost made it! I was told to call the State Police and then Eastern Motors by the police officer and the tow truck driver who towed the car to my house for $150.00. Now the car is sitting in my driveway with no tags. I just wish Eastern Motors would deliver what they advertise HELP instead of DECEPTION!
